Volvo MOT Insurance covers your Volvo up to a maximum of £700 of the cost of a failed MOT – and there’s no excess to be paid should you make a claim. And when you consider 30%** of all cars fail their MOT, it pays to be take care.

Unlike most MOT insurance policies, Volvo MOT Insurance covers almost all faults. The full list below contains the specific parts whose repair or replacement cost is covered by the insurance.
The parts specified are covered as a direct consequence of being cited in an MOT fail sheet (Form VT30) as causing the vehicle to fail.
Lighting Equipment
Lamps, reflectors, indicators and bulbs are covered for failure due to breakages, discolouration, misalignment, water ingress and corrosion.
Steering and Suspension
Manual and power steering units, suspensions drag links, track rods/ends, shock absorbers, steering rack gaitors, road springs, wishbones, swivel joints, mountings, sub frames and wheel bearings are covered for failure due to wear, seizure, leakage and insecurity.
Braking System
Brake master cylinder, wheel cylinder, callipers, discs/drums, load compensator, ABS modulator/sensors/computers and brake pipes, hoses, cables are covered for failure due to wear, leakage, seizure, splits/cracks, corrosion and adjustment.
Seat Belts
Mountings, belts, retractors and buckles are covered for failure due to wear, non-function and insecurity.
Vehicle Structure
Vehicle structure is covered for corrosion.
Fuel System
Carburettors, fuel injection system, fuel ECU and fuel pipes are covered for failure to meet MOT exhaust gas emission standards.
General
Windscreen wipers and washer motors.
Where liability for the cost of repairs is admitted, the insured will be reimbursed for repair costs, up to a maximum aggregate of £700 including VAT during the period of insurance.
IMPORTANT
Please note that this insurance does not cover the following: accidental or malicious damage, neglect or wear and tear reported during the vehicle’s previous service, actual tuning or adjustments to the fuel system and windscreen wiper motors, tyres, wheels, exhaust systems, catalytic converters.
Terms and ConditionsShow
To help protect your rights the Terms and Conditions of this insurance are stated below. This insurance is in addition to your legal rights and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
If your vehicle is under 3 years old it is a condition of this insurance that there must be a minimum of 6 months before your first MOT test is due, however if your vehicle is over 3 years old there must be at least 6 months valid MOT remaining in order to be accepted for this insurance.
Any exploratory dismantling charges will only be reimbursed as part of a valid claim. It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to authorise dismantling and to pay the charges if such dismantling proves that the failure is not the responsibility of the Insurers. The Insurer reserves the right to subject the failed parts to expert assessment.
The Insurer will not be liable in respect of any claim insured by any other existing policy or policies.
If any claim is fraudulent in any respect all benefits under this insurance will be forfeited.
The indemnity granted by the Insurer to the Insured shall not exceed the manufacturer’s list prices for parts and labour cost necessarily incurred in repair of insured components up to the maximum claim liability stipulated.
The Insurer shall not be liable for any statement or representation, written or verbal (by whomsoever made), which contradicts the Terms and Conditions in this insurance, unless such statement or representation is supported in writing by the Company on their behalf.
All claims must be supported by a VAT receipted invoice from your Volvo Approved Dealer.
Failure to comply with the manufacturer’s service schedules may invalidate this insurance. A maximum allowance of 1,000 miles either side of the stipulated service schedule mileage or four weeks either side of the stipulated time period is permitted.
This insurance does not cover:
Any parts which have not actually failed, which are replaced or reported during routine servicing and/or repair of other parts which have failed.
Any loss to the Insured in excess of the maximum claims liability.
Territorial limits. Cover under this policy may only be granted to individuals residing, or corporate bodies registered in the UK.
Liability which attached by virtue of agreement but which would not have attached in the absence of the said agreement.
Any vehicle used for hire or reward (eg. taxis, self drive hire, driving schools, etc) or any commercial vehicle over 3.5 tonnes GVW or a vehicle used in any sort of competition, rally or racing of any kind.
Any liability for death, bodily injury or damage to other property for any consequential loss of whatsoever nature arising directly or indirectly from the claim or event giving rise under this insurance.
